Ben Taub Hospital Capital Campaign

CLIENT: HARRIS HEALTH SYSTEM

Ben Taub Hospital has been a Houston institution since 1963, training over 75% of the doctors in Harris County and functioning as one of only two level I trauma centers — a startlingly small number for a city of our size. When the hospital needed to raise $25 million in a capital campaign for major updates, I positioned it among other local icons to build the “Ben Taub Works” campaign.

I took inspiration from religious iconography to develop imagery of the hospital as a shining beacon of medical advancement. I illustrated it among other Houston favorites like the Astrodome, the fountain at Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park and the Johnson Space Center. With the dual strategy of showcasing its impressive medical statistics and comparing it to its cultural peers, I was able to demonstrate its remarkable relevance to our city.
